Kolor乐队的名字取自英文Color，即是“色彩”的意思。Kolor由临记、Tat Flip及Nothing None前成员组合而成。他们开始时都玩摇滚和新金属为多。

他们认为，对于音乐的理解和一个画家，用不同的颜色描绘一幅图画，去表达自己的思想与感觉一样。所以他们的音乐，会以不同的音乐元素去筑构而成，求新求变。

前经纪人则为前Beyond低音吉他手黄家强，后来因不和而解除合作关系，及后随首个音乐会《INDEPENDENCE LIVE》正式宣布独立。

2007年7月首度推出同名专辑《Color》。更于同年年尾夺得叱咤乐坛流行榜颁奖典礼生力军组合铜奖。

2009年，KOLOR第二张大碟《Surrealism》面世，收录热播作品《围城》、《爱莫能助》等歌曲，风格亦渐趋成熟，同时获得更多大型演出的机会。经过多年的努力及累积连串演出经验后，现为自主制作音乐的KOLOR发表第三张大碟《Independence》及首个音乐会《INDEPENDENCE LIVE》，引起非常正面的回响。当中《寻因果》及《半首歌》于电台上播放率甚佳，第三主打《对错》更邀请歌手卢巧音合作，得到一致好评。

自2010年2月14日起，Kolor在官方网页发布歌曲《寻因果》。其后每个月的十四日，Kolor就定期在网上发布全新单曲，而这定律就名为Kolor的《Law of 14》,Kolor 在2013年6月14日发布最后一首Law of 14 单曲, 并在7月1日演唱会中宣布停止Law of 14。

2010年12月，KOLOR登陆台湾SIMPLE LIFE音乐会表演，及与HIP HOP组合24 HERBS合作于国际展贸中心STAR HALL举办《24K音乐会》，并推出第四张专辑《As Simple As》。

2011年3月，KOLOR凭《愚公》获得香港电台中文歌曲龙虎榜冠军，并计划于夏天再度举办大型音乐会。同年KOLOR凭《费城实验》历史性首次获得无线电视劲歌金榜冠军歌;及后《费城实验》更获无线电视改编为该台综艺节目《功夫新星》主题曲,KOLOR并获邀主唱该改编后的主题曲。KOLOR 亦为香港电台电视节目正斗中文翻唱每集粤语歌词赏析 (MV) 歌曲。

2012在九展举行 Law of 14 演唱会全场爆满，同年尾首次与柏斯管乐团举行第四次演唱会获得外界热烈好评。2013年七月在沙田大会堂再次与柏斯管乐团合作举行演唱会，全场爆满。

2015年2月13日，Kolor于麦花臣场馆举行Kollective Memories 41演唱会，回顾“Law Of 14”41个月的回忆。

2016年8月12日，KOLOR再于旺角麦花臣场馆举行单独演唱会KOLOR LIVE 2016 TWISTED。同时会场优先发售同名大碟《TWISTED》，收录多首新歌，以及重新混音之《修罗之怒》、《生于忧患》。

The name of KOLOR comes from the English phrase “COLOR” which represents their diversities both musically and personally, leading to greater impact on the Hong Kong music scene.

[2009] KOLOR released the third album【Independence】on August 6, 2010 and held their first concert 「Independence Live」in Star Hall. The single <True and False> is featured with local musician Candy Lo which found various acclaims recently.

[2010] KOLOR participated a large music festival in Taiwan 「Simple Life Festival」 together with other Hong Kong bands in December. KOLOR officially announced co-operate with the local popular Hip Hop group 24 HERBS in November, and they held「24K《24 HERBS + KOLOR》Concert」in Star Hall.

[2012] KOLOR had their <<Law of 14>> concert at the KITEC, it had become one of the most successful performance of them which had participated a full house of audiences. KOLOR also hold an amazing 4th music concert cooperated by Parsons Wind Orchestra at the end of 2012.

[2013] KOLOR continued the 2nd cooperation with Parsons Wind Orchestra, they had a music concert on July 2013.

[2015] <Kollective Memories 41> was hold at MacPherson Stadium in 2015, all their fans showed truly support and highly acclaimed.
