11月18日FM3将在旧天堂书店举行讲座与“佛打架”：听FM3说活动。
FM3乐队成立于2000年，成员为张荐和老赵(Christiaan Virant)，他们被认为是中国抽象实验电子乐的先锋人物。FM3以致力于构建作品内里对呼吸的描写和对声场空间的控制著称，他们的音乐也需要被静心聆听；早期他们将中国古典民乐采样制作成自己独有的音色。他们善用长音，静止音及大量的空间留白，演绎中国古典民乐的音色，极简地构成了FM3独有的、东方的冥想音景。
FM3在2005出品了标志性作品“Buddha Machine——佛机”而被世人所熟知。
在即将出版第五代佛机之前，FM3乐队将于2014年十一月在全球发售新专辑《听说》。专辑内的音乐，均出自第四代佛机的音轨素材。这张专辑也将直接衍生出第五代Buddha Machine的声音系统，是前后两代佛机的相生作品。
《听说》是FM3在佛机问世之后首次以乐队名义出版的CD专辑。这一次，继续秉承传统，希望通过《听说》，向听者揭示FM3音乐的真正来源。同时，一如既往地展开他们的主题：以音乐静心， 持守内外的统一。

A United States (US)-native, Virant moved to China in the 1980s to study Chinese Music and culture. In 1999, Virant joined Zhang Jian to form FM3.They are best known for their 2005 release, the "Buddha Machine" loop-player.Under the consideration of taking the silence as profession, they go after the combination of appearance and heart.
They wish the essence of Buddha Machine, which is the coexistence of pros and cons, could be conveyed and accepted and to achieve lenience, to interpret “ting” and “shuo”.
In 2005, FM3 began work on a small musical loop player they called the Buddha Machine. The name and idea is derived from a popular Chinese device that intones repeating loops of Buddhist chanting. Attracted to its design, they applied their construction as a means of presenting their loop-based music and it is released by one of the world's most important experimental music label Staalplaat Records(Germany). As the appointed pack and the iconic transmission medium of FM3 music, Buddha Machine and FM3 are each other’s mutual carriers.
In October, it comes the release of a forthcoming FM3 album, called "Ting Shuo”.
